Welcome to FISHO – an ART SLASH FISHING SLASH FASHION EXPERIMENT
The fascinating thing about fishing — the lure is different for everyone, but it’s somehow absolutely universal too. As someone who fishes saltwater, freshwater, and brackish mangrove swamps, eats my children’s Goldfish crackers, binge watches Alaskan crabbing videos, and wears salmon-patterned socks — I’ve often thought: Why isn’t there a magazine that casts a super wide net on fishing as a lifestyle?
New FISHO Issue 01:
NORTHWEST NIRVANA
Seattle. The Emerald City. Archipelago of moss and sprawling maritime life and fashion capital of whatever keeps you dry as long as it’s not an umbrella. This latest issue of FISHO features the Squid Games of the West Seattle ferry terminal, road-tripping the Cascade Ranges for skinny rainbow trout, loitering the Golden Gardens boat ramp, foggy panoramas and the gorgeous paraphernalia of commercial fleets moored at docks, plus the local FISHO’s themselves - salty young sea dogs, a Somali Uber driver, my neighbor sporting an epic vintage Sonics jacket, and more. Welcome to an oystercore odyssey through Nirvana, minus the unhappy ending.
